Bipolar disorder and CBD

Bipolar disorder is the mental disorder causing the unusual shift in the energy, mood
and activity level. The condition includes emotional highs and lows. When low a person loses all
the interest and pleasure in most of the activities, on the other hand, when high, he will feel
euphoric and full of energy. The sudden change of mood makes a person difficult to hold a job or
maintain a healthy personal relationship. During the manic episodes, the sufferer may even
develop suicidal tendencies.

patients are also benefitted by the psychotherapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and
psychoeducation. Sleep medications are very helpful to maintain healthy sleep patterns.

CBD is an alternative treatment option for Bipolar Disorder. The human body has an
endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for regulating mood, sleep, inflammation, pain,
and memory. These responses are triggered by cannabinoids which are produced in the body or
can be introduced by synthetic and natural products like CBD. When there is a deficiency or
imbalance of the cannabinoid, the region of the brain that regulates mood, and sleep are affected,
resulting in bipolar disorder.

There are studies which support the CBD as an alternative treatment of the bipolar disorder,
helping the patients to regulate their mood, episodes of psychosis, and energy levels.
