With the legalization of Hemp industrial production in the US, the MCC (Muscatine Community College) in the State of Iowa has moved a step ahead and adopted new and revolutionary practices in agriculture to create awareness about the mass production of the crop.
The community college has announced its new diploma program, with hemp-associated courses that aim to teach students the industry regulations, the plant’s development phases from seed to harvest, and post-harvest processing.
To popularize their new course, the college has taken social media, i.e., FB Live-streaming, to host an informational session regarding the cultivation of the crop and the coursework for new students.
For comprehensive education, the college has also dedicated a field of 300 square yards and a greenhouse to practice the work. The college administration has added that Hemp is a versatile crop and benefits those who have larger farms and looking for an additional income source as a reason behind their focus. As many were interested, the college is hosting a dedicated informational session on its website for further details that begins at 5:30 PM, December 15, 2020.
