Skin cancer is a condition where there is an abnormal growth of the skin cells, which
most commonly is triggered by sun exposure. Skin cancer is the result of the mutation that
occurs in your DNA, which leads to abnormal growth of the cells, forming a rapidly spreading
cancerous mass. Skin cancer is of three types- basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma,
and melanoma. Melanoma is the most dangerous among all while the rest are not life-threatening
considering the prompt treatment is given.
Several studies have found the link between CBD and the endocannabinoid system. Studies have
proved that CBD can halt the progress of the cancerous cells. Evidence suggests that CBD can
regulate the cell-survival and cell death pathways in cancerous and non-cancerous cells. A study
from 2013 suggests that 90% of the skin cancers can be treated using synthetic CBD. However,
these studies were conducted on animals, and no human evidence is present currently.
