Cannabinoids are the compounds found in the cannabis plant. THC offers the psychoactive effects associated with ‘getting high’ while CBD is effective in countering the psychoactive effects caused by THC.
The CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant using CO2 extraction method. Likewise, other compounds are also extracted, including Terpenes, Flavonoids, and other cannabinoids. The composition of the cannabinoid profile differs according to the type of strain and classification used for the extraction.
CBD isolate is the purest form of the compound. It is singularly extracted and isolated from other compounds. Full spectrum CBD is the extract which contains all the compounds that are found naturally in the plant, including terpenes, essential oils, and other cannabinoids. All the compounds extracted from the plant magnify the therapeutic effect of the full spectrum CBD, which is called as ‘entourage effect.’ Broad spectrum CBD is a between Full spectrum CBD, and CBD isolates. Like Full spectrum CBD, the compounds in the plants are preserved, but like in CBD isolate, THC is removed from the extract. Broad Spectrum CBD offers multiple benefits without offering psychoactive effects of THC.
It’s not that one type of CBD is better than others. All types of CBD have its own therapeutic effects; it’s on the user to decide which one works the best for him.
